The stories were eye-opening. Despite ‘learning about apartheid’ at school, we actually know very little about the physical and emotional struggles people of colour were faced with. I wanted to create an infinite/cyclical feel with the work – paying tribute to the ongoing struggles and movements but I really struggled to get this instant look and feel to the work.
